Where were you in 1975?

I am sitting here watching a program on what was hot in 1975 - Remember Sherbet?
Didn't they turn evil when they started wearning make up! My best friend ran their Newcastle based fan club and that is all I heard about. Boy, the stories she made up about what when on between the boys and her on a weekend at a gig! I knew it was all lies, but I let her go anyway cause she used to give me free Sherbert albums.Apparently the guys were'nt keen on the make up either, but that was the craze - especially with the likes of Kiss and the american bands with so much long permed hair and tight, tight pants...and the glossy silver eye shadow.
You could still get a decent cream bun and cream horn at the shop. (Yum)
What about flaired pants.....I remember having a pink pair - oh so stylish!
1975 was over 30 years ago - oh my God!!!!I was in high school and hated it. I would go to my friend's place before school every day and we would walk to school together and always be late.
That seems such a long time ago - yes...I AM old.

Oh I used to love Sherbet.... Garth really did it for my pubescent self. Yummo.
I had red satin hotpants, flared. With a little white cheesecloth top to go with them, and a red brooch!!! I LOVED the 70's. I still love the 70's although it was probably only the good bits i remember!!!
I remember the Salvo's playing tamborines on the street corner and getting more lollies then could fit into a brown paper bag for 20c. Crackers for cracker night, all in the display case at the corner store.
Ahhh the good old days.....

I wore Skye-blue ones with a pink knitted top that had some ribbon roses on the front to my yr 7 end-of-year dance. My the end of yr 10, I had graduated to apple green flares with a matching triangle hankerchief top. And the platform shoes....a godsend top a girl of 5 feet 2 inches!
I have a friend who is a die-hard Sherbet fan. She buys memorabilia off e-bay, and the highlight of her year was meeting Garth at his studios as he wanted to purchase some of her collection. Did you know that Sherbet have recorded a new album? Gaynor was there when some songs were recorded! And a special guest when they performed live recently.
The 70's were a unique time..everything was so simple, and cheap. The decor was a bit ugly, though...

I was 7 and sitting up my favourite tree. My dad was a DJ and would play Sherbet songs for me because they were my favourite band besides Queen.

I was but a far away concept..... born 7 years later. So there.
Wish I hadn't missed it, sounds like fun! And 'flares' are kind of back in fashion - we just call them 'bootlegs' now. :)

Me and my friend did a dance at our year 6 'farewell' to Dancing Queen wearing black leotars and streamers around our wrist and knees. Shame.....
