Diabetic shoes and such

April Fool's Day
Many many moons ago, April 1st was New Years Day.
Some stupid pope decided to change it at some stage......as they did with many other things, like stealing our pagan festivals and making them catholic feast days.
Hmmmm.
I have overcome the SHOCK of having a butt ugly orthopeadic diabetic shoe named after me.
Yes I know...it's telling me somethng.
Not sure what that is, but something about ugly shoes, I'm sure.
Spent the day in Sydney yesterday at Animania with my daughter and three of her school friends.
They were all great I had a brilliant day - we also had to catch buses to Sydney cause of trackwork and it was lovely, other than being bowled over by a 65 year old man who felt that he deserved to board the bus before I did.
I told him that pushing in was very childish - I think he suffers from selective deafness as he didn't seem to hear me.

The ULTIMATE humiliation!
I actually saw a pair of Homy Ped shoes in the Chemist named "Renata".
Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!
That has taken me over the edge!
Whispers of Lillith
This now replaces the old witchybitz.
It does not replace web-of-wyrd.
It's just an extra.
Enjoy.
And let me know what you think.

Monday bloody Monday!
I did my reiki masters today - something that I have had on my 'to do' list for a long time.
In the mean time, my beautiful Bee saw life unravel before her eyes.
My heart goes out to you Bee.
It must be truely a horrible time for you.
Mary Raihn has gone out on a limb and is re connecting.
How great is that!
Mary Anchell is painting up a storm and forgetting to go to art school.
Ha Ha..I would have loved to have gone to the gallery with you on Saturday.
Mary Jacquie is cleaning.... ( I know, it's by default, you had nothing better to do)
Mary Tesah is getting over Japanese weekend..Ah..so..
Mary Kathleen, I miss you.
Mary Jewell has had a passing in her family...prayers and blessings to a grand old lady.
Mary Cyndy has a naked headed child in the house.
Mary Jen is recovering from the birthday party weekend from hell.
Mary Kristy is being a mum, a wife, a nurse, a carer, a cook, and anything else she can be in her sleepless spare time.
And life goes on.
Have I missed someone? Fill me in.

What a grand day!

Got this Brett Whiteley print from the Art Gallery for the man today.
I love his work.
The best thing about this one is that in the lower right hand corner there is a phrase that says...
"a pointless painting needs looking at for a long time in order to think about it"
Hey..Anchell....Brett truely did not conform.
He did go to art school but I am sure that his teachers would have critisized his work too -he started out being pretty straight but his best work was later on when he allowed himself to be free albiet full of alchohol and drugs.
I went to his studio in Sydney many years ago, with the man and Aleks when she was only about 3 or 4.
That was a grand experience.
I had a ball today.
The Art gallery is a place I need to experience more often.
They had a section with buddahs from India and Asia. One piece, was a buddah carved from wood -very old. If you looked at it for long enough, it looked like it was breathing.
I was blown away.
Then we went to bookshops and cakeshops and sushi train, where we saw Guy Sebastian.
It was a very good day.

Just one of those days!
You know the feeling!!
I have had sadness - due to the loss of a fine friend and colleague of my husbands who passed from cancer.
I have had health "issues" making me tired and foggy in the head.
I have had a "possessed woman" calling me up at 11.45 at night. (Yes - REALLY possessed! Like spirit possessed!!!!!!!!!)
I have been overlooked, yet again, for something that should have come my way - but did'nt.
I am a bit over it, actually.
It's days like these that show me just how fragile I still am after all that has happened in our family over the past few months. Emotions are still near the surface.
Life steam rolls on, regardless of what we want.
Am going to Sydney tomorrow with Aleks and Shann and we will be "Turning Japanese".
We are going to the Tezuka exhibition at the Art Gallery ( I might sneek off to see the Archibald's) then we are doing sushi, or something just as Japanesey, and then hitting the shops before heading home.
Should be fun.
If I fall asleep ......just prod me.

More Sad News.
But he did it and was actually doing quite well, having a positive outlook on life and enjoying himself as much as he could.
I guess we did not know just how tough it could get for him. He always had a smile and did not complain.
My husband spoke to a member of the family today and was told that his friend had had enough - he deteriorated very quickly over the last week and then it was over.
Very sad. He was a good guy. A hard working guy. A family man.
Also, I mention the old fellow that was killed by some scumbag in Union street yesterday.
This old fellow ran a little shop just opposite the Newcastle Worker's club for over 50 years.
He was a Newcastle icon. He was 87 years old for god sake.
I actually walked into his shop a few weeks ago to buy a bottle of milk and he struck me as an amazingly lovely fellow. He had, what must have been the oldest cash register in Newcastle, still in operation on his front counter and very proud of it indeed.
I spoke to him about the register, telling him that I remember similar ones from my baby years.
I am saddened by his death - his shop was his life. His service to the people of Cook's Hill was well known.
Some moron needing quick cash for a fix ended his time on earth prematurely and it makes me angry that the perpretrator obviously had no concern for anything or anyone that got in his/her way.
To these two men I send my prayers - to their families and friends, who will miss them and cherish their memories I send my sympathy.
RIP.

World Wide Alert ! Expando stomach ready to Burst!
At the moment I have to lean to one side when I sit, as it is the most comfortable position I can achieve.
Am back home.
Back to reality.
Had trouble connecting to internet at the "Hole in the Wall" Motel, so could not post.
We had breakfast yesterday at one of the famous Italian eateries on Lygon street which was great. Much good quality cappucino followed by gelatos.
We also went to St. Kilda and took in the International Motor Show where I spied the newest Volvo ( which was soooo nice! ).
We went to see Professor Givemeallyourmoney (otherwise known as Professor Costello - the man's surgeon) and took him some very nice red wine and his nurses and staff got chocolates and cards as gifts of appreciation for all of their care and concern during the man's stay in hospital and treatment.
The Professor was genuinely thrilled with his gift, saying that it was really a touching thing to do.
His staff were also extremely thankful and it was, to us, a highlight of the whole trip - to be able to show our gratefulness.
We all exchanged big emotional hugs and kisses.
I thought, how many times do you get to kiss and hug a man who is known the world over for his expertise in a specific surgical practice and who has just saved your partner's life?
As much as I like the man, I told the Professor that I hoped that I would never have to see him again, but I was very, very glad that our paths had crossed in this life time.
An angelic intervention for sure!
The man is well, clean bill of health given!!!!
Yippee....that deserves another piece of cake!
Or two.....We DID stock up before we left.

Expando Stomach Returns!
Getting up pre dawn was a monster and I have not recovered.
We hit Melbourne way too early to get into our room so we left our bags at reception ( I have never, ever seen such a small reception area in a hotel in all my life! ) and we went down the street to enjoy a full hot breakfast with bacon, eggs, toast, hash brown and grilled tomato with a wicked cappucinno for under $10.
We decided to go to the Zoo and caught the tram. There ,we sweltered in the humidity and heat and walked around seeing all the animals for hours till we were spent! Some really great exhibits including the elephants and oraguntans.
This was massive for the man, who hasn't had such a 'full on' day since his operation last year!
On the way back we stopped at the Queen Victoria Markets for our promised kransky and sauerkraut roll followed by almond croissant and purchased Polish donuts to take back to the hotel.
We briefly stopped at 'Minotaur" for the Anime freak to get her fix and spend some of our money. She was a happy girl.
Our accommodation is, let's say..understated...maybe that's the wrong word. Probably "basic as" would suit it better.
The rooms are ok with the bathroom being circa 1950. The hand basin is duck egg blue with a white bath tub being off set by stylish pink and white tiling..mmmm.
Our "complimentary breakfast" consists of six pieces of white bread wrapped in plastic wrap with one strawberry jam and one orange marmalade tiny spread with a vegemite one thrown in for good measure.
We have a little tea and coffee and that's it.
Gosh..I feel full already - thank God we bought those Polish Donuts.
Tonight we take it easy for tomorrow is another eating day!
Thursday, March 01, 2007
Off to Melbourne!
Yay!!!!!
Cannot wait!
The man needs to see his specialist and we have an appoinment scheduled for Monday.
Other than that, the plan is :
Arrive in Melbourne at 7.30 am.
Head directly to nearest cake shop for breakfast.
Check into hotel.
Scan the horizon for a Greek cake shop (simply the best - I promise to post a photo!)
Queen Victoria Markets for kransky and sauerkraut rolls followed by an almond croissant for lunch.
Maybe some walking.
Shopping and eating more cake.
etc, etc,etc.
Oh - this should be good.
We do plan to go to the Zoo and maybe fit in an Art Gallery ( hope there is a cake shop nearby)
and my daughter is meeting a friend she has been speaking to over the internet and they will go to an Anima / Manga Art store for hours of oohhing and ahhhing!
Might even head to "The Spellbox" which is a cool witchy store right in the centre of the CBD and get a reading done.
Am taking the old lap top so will keep you informed on our progress. (BURP)

Three Cheers for Al Gore!

Hip, Hip, Hooray!
Al Gore has won an Oscar for his documentary "An Inconvenient Truth".
I believe that everyone should see this documentary - therefore we will be showing it at Rose Cottage on Wednesday evening March 28th as part of our "Around the Cauldron" evening.
Another great event that is being started up is the "Lights Out Australia" campaign - you can go to www.cooltheglobe.com for more details, but in short, we are being encouraged to turn off all lights that are not needed on the evening of the first Wednesday of every month.

HOW BRILLIANT!!!
Many of the big companies in Australia are going to do it- thus changing the skyline in our big cities, such as inner Sydney CBD for even just a few hours.
Is this achievable at the cottage on a Wednesday night during our meeting?
Should we give it a go.
First night is 7th March at 7pm ( I think that is the time!)

Healing Picture!

This beautiful painting now hangs in our bedroom. We just got it back from the framers last week.
It is a painting done by Michelle, one of the Marys, that the man requested when he found out he had cancer ( which he no longer has and will never have again thank you very much!)
It was done as a healing painting for him.
It has taken some time for us to get it framed but now it is done and it looks sensational.
Thankyou Michelle.
Every time I will look at it, it will remind me of what we have been through and of how lucky we are.
And yes, our walls ARE purple in the bedroom - doesn't it just go perfectly!
Michelle holds art classes at the cottage on the last Sunday of each month. Maybe if you come along, she can teach you to make stunning pieces like this too!
I am sitting here enjoying a "Fluffy Duck" while posting this entry.
That would take some of you back.
The others are too young to even know what a fluffy duck is!
When was the last time YOU had a Fluffy Duck eh!
I am feeling luckier by the minute!

Got a headache yet?

Monday, February 19, 2007
Ouch!

Good News!

Just before the man went into hospital to have his operation last week we went across the road to the clinic to give a blood sample for his PSA test ( Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) test: a blood test which can measure levels of a protein called prostate specific antigen.)
This little test tells us if he has any signs of abnormal, potentially cancerous, cells in his blood stream or not.
This is not fun to wait for.
This shit is serious stuff.
But, today the results came back with levels that were undetectable - WHICH IS VERY GOOD DAMN NEWS!!!!
I could wipe the sweat off my brow once again.
Also received a request to scoot down to the bottle shop ( why do they call it a bottle shop?) to buy a celebratory bottle of Chivas Regal for the man.
Which I dutifully did.
He deserves it!
Tomorrow the catheter comes out and he may regain the ability to sit still for more than 5 minutes at a time without being in pain.
Life goes on- although there are times, such as these now, where all you can do is drift through.

It's Wellness NOT Illness!

From now on I will be looking at my man's state of health as his "state of wellness" and not "illness".
I think that is the far more positive way to go.
Having a catheter in is not a fun time, but the man is coping with this little hiccup.
Just a few more days and it will be removed, just in time for his birthday which is next Wednesday.
It's damn HOT again and I have woken up from another deep sleep that requires two cups of proper coffee to start my pulse.
I don't know where I have been going lately in my dreams - I wish I could remember how much fun I must have been having, cause I certainly wake up feeling like I have a hangover!
Aleks is having another Japanese lesson this morning and our weekend will be quiet.
I will ATTEMPT to do some cleaning (URGHHH!).
Why do we accumulate little pieces of paper with useless pieces of information on them, that just might be needed one day, so you keep them, just in case....

Am I 100% Accurate?

What's the go?
I have had 4 enquiries lately for a psychic reading and all have asked me whether I am 100% accurate!
Hell no - and I would never say so even if I thought I was.
How egotistical would I be to think that I can get it right all the time!
It makes me wonder whether these people look for someone who will tell them that, yes, they are 100% accurate. Then what happens when what was predicted does not come true?
As a member of the Australian Psychics Association I abide by their code of conduct as a professional reader, and we are told, "Do not state that you can give readings that are 100% accurate."
There must be readers out there that do.
There are so many variables.
I may tell someone something that I see happening in the near future for them, but I can be most assured that it will eventuate usually ONLY IF THEY CHANGE NOTHING....if they change something because of what has been said during a reading wouldn't that also effect the outcome?
Does that then make my initial reading inaccurate?
Mmmmmmm.
100% accurate - For the record, no I'm not.But I can live with that.

Is there a crystal in that water?

After getting inspired by our crystal talk on Wednesday night I put a rose quartz in my daughter's water bottle that she takes to school.
She asked why?
So I told her about the properties of crystals in general, that water is such an excellent conductor and that the rose quartz is a loving stone and that the piece in the bottle held all my love for her in it...Awwwwww!!!!
So as she drank during the day, she would feel my love being with her..yet again....Awwwwww!!!!
I also need to drink more water, under doctor's request as, I have known that I have always had low blood pressure, but was not aware just how low it was till I had it measured a few times in one week due to some small problems that had occurred recently.
Doc said that drinking water would help me feel better - I have always felt foggy headed and lethargic, especially on rising - now I totally understand why!
One good piece of news is that because my heart beats less often per minute than the average person's it will last longer too!

Hello from Capt.Creator!

Hello Earthlings.....
All this creating stuff has given me a bit of a headache! I must remember that I am a middle aged super heroine..and take it easy.
Or at least sit down and have a cuppa between creations!
This is hard work.
Have you ever tried to be totally positive about your WHOLE day no matter what?
Far our brussel sprout! (yes you!)
I must spend more time contemplating a quote from Carl Jung which states,
"What you resist - persists".
Therefore, the more I try not to get old...the older I get!mmmmmm
At this rate I should be 95 by the end of the week..
I am the creator of my Universe, and I choose to have a decent coffee shop on each corner,an easily accessible parking spot wherever I go, no washing dishes or laundry ( ever ) and a stack of friends. That will do for starters.
I have also just spent $59 on a chiropractic pillow that promises a good night's sleep.
It better...or this little Creator will be mighty pissed!
Till next time...
Capt signing off.
Remember - Save the Planet! If you wreck it, then the next closest one is Mars and we all know what a shit hole that is!
Sunday, February 04, 2007
Hello from the creator!
Yes I am!
I am creating a Mediumship Circle tonight at the Cottage and I am well pleased!
To all those other "Creators" out there...
What are YOU creating today?
I challenge you all to create ONE thing..
just one..
something new..
TODAY!!
What's it going to be?
..........................I'm waiting!

P.S.That's me in my Capt Creator outfit!
You like?

What a week!

It has been a full week for me - I have been at the Cottage almost every day this week....wow.
We had a working bee there yesterday and scrubbed the placed from floor to ceiling. It sparkles - I want to sincerely thank Deb, Leanne, Michelle and Gloria for turning up and rolling up their sleeves. The ladies worked really hard, but it was worth it to see the Cottage clean and tidy.I AM sore today and I image that they are too!
I watched "the Secret" again last night on TV. It definately is a movie that needs to be seen a few times to get the message.
My favorite phrase from the whole movie is, " I am the Creator of my Universe".That's a pretty cool statement.
Today, I am hoping to buy a T.V. and dvd for the Cottage. There is a special deal I am chasing and with the ok to purchase having been made - I am hoping that the deal will still be available.

Vertigo.

Wow...I really DO have to be careful about what I talk about ( and therefore manifest ).Yesterday I mentioned how life was so busy and I did not have time to slow down...well today I was GIVEN the time.
Last night I had an attack of vertigo.
Anyone who gets this will know that the pain is so intense that you wish you were dead.
Unfortunately, I was also in Sydney attending an end of season function with Calendar Club at the same time.
Not pretty to be screaming in the back of a car in the car park in a different city while waiting for the ambulance to arrive!
So, I then spent 4 hours in emergency at Royal Price Alfred Hospital waiting for the symptoms to subside getting IV fluids and injections.
My friends, who I had traveled with, also waited.
It was literally a miracle that I got to a state where I could come home.
I thought that I might have to stay in hospital all night.
So today, I am very foggy and feel quite dazed, so I have been forced to slow down - and forgive me tonight at ritual.
Not sure how I will be by then.
But there you go....watch what you talk about.

Life waits for no man.

I have taken a short break from writing our Lammas ritual for tomorrow night for the Cottage" to contemplate, for a moment, (cause contemplation can give you a headache)just how life rolls on regardless of what is going on.
When the man was told he had cancer last year, it was my darkest time. I needed the world to stop spinning, or at least slow down, so I could "get a grip", but it didn't. Actually, the days steam rolled along at break neck speed as if to say,
"Hurry up...make some choices, do something, work it out and do it now!"
It's been a week since Calendar Club finished and I have not had time to breath - I have swung into Cottage life and my days are once again filled to overflowing.
I was supposed to have time to think....but I haven't.
So it's time to go forward and not back.
Yes, this IS Good.
Tiring, but good.
And I am very lucky - all is well.

School starts!

Today was D-Day!My baby started High school!
Yes...she was very nervous, but when we got there we immediately found her friend and from then on she was fine.
I couldn't wait for her to get home to hear about her day.
She liked it - it was a whole new system.
Most impressive event? She got a locker at school.
I am very happy for her.
I hope she still likes it in a week's time.
It is still sooo hot isn't it.
I can't function in weather like this.
Actually, I am finding it hard to adjust to the change now that I am not doing Calendar Club.
I feel I should be doing something...but I don't know what?
Did a Goddess Circle at the Cottage last night with Leanne - she was really good!
I recommend it.It should be a fun group!

Two days before High School!
We asked her today if there was anything that she would like to do on her last days of "freedom".We thought that she might want to go out somewhere, see a movie, go for a drive to Nelson Bay, etc...but no, it was "more internet time" and "let's go to Graphic Action" ( which is a store in town specialising in Manga and graphic art).
Yes...we have a serious computer geek in our midsts.
I suppose it IS my fault. As the man pointed out, I used to sit her on my lap, cause she was too small to sit at the computer on her own, when she first started. How old was she? Four or five I think.
She does look so grown up in her new uniform. Let's hope that she actually learns to do some study this year....dont worry Aleks I will MAKE sure that you study!

My mother in law fell over on Saturday night while going to the toilet just before midnight and managed to break her foot in three places. She had an operation yesterday and had plates put in and is now recovering. We went to see her yesterday at the John. She is a private patient - yet there were no private beds available so she was in a room with three other people. When the man asked whether she would be transferred at some stage to a private room, he was told that probably not.So much for paying for private health care.We walked into a room chockers full of people visiting the other patients and mum in law was still groggy and fuzzy having just had the op.How delightful.I would really appreciated my privacy at that point, especially if I was going to hurl or was yelling in pain or something - but no, lets just pop you into a room with another 20 people so that you can hurl on public display!

Another week begins!

"An Inconvenient Truth"

Isn't this the most amazing picture ever taken?
I spent the afternoon of Australia Day ( Happy Australia Day everyone!!)watching Al Gore's doco called "An Inconvenient Truth".
I thoroughly endorse watching this fascinating movie.
Al Gore has been on his quest to educate us on the issues of global warming for over 20 years!I certainly did not know that.I wonder what the world would be like if he HAD won the last election? Mmmmm....
A president who is an environmentalist, and who knows what he is talking about!
What a shame, it didn't happen.
PLease get yourself a copy of this dvd ( I now have one ) and watch it. Educate yourself.Make yourself aware and pass it on to your friends.
By the way...it's bloody hot outside, isn't it?
Off to see the fireworks tonight.

"Rose Cottage" Neopagans
Well, I have been talking to our intrepid leader about a small change of name for our group for the new year.
It has been approved by Lisa, but I will definitely be running it past the girls and boys tonight for a general rating and see what people think.
It broadens our spectrum of involvement and makes us more than just pagans, witches, etc..
If you look at the explanation of the word "neopagan" from wikipedia it is as follows,
The term "Neopagan" is used by academics and adherents alike to denote Pagan traditions which are largely modern in origin, or which are conceived as reconstructions, continuations or revivals of ancient practices. While "pagan" (lowercase) is still used by many to denote an irreligious person, adherents of modern Pagan and Neopagan religions capitalize these words because, in these cases, the words are being used to describe a religion, or members of a religion, "in the same way as one would describe a 'Christian' or a 'Jew'."[2]
"Neopagans" provides a means of distinguishing between historical Pagans of ancient cultures and the adherents of modern religious movements. The category of religions known as "Neopagan" includes Wicca, Non-Wiccan Religious Witchcraft, Neo-druid faiths, and many others.[4]
So what do we all think?
Are we ready for this change?

What did I do today?

Could not sleep in - it was too darn hot!
Went to the toilet....many, many times.
Had buckets of water and coke.
Went to the toilet even more.
Saw my doctor.
Took my daughter to McDonalds.
Went to Centrelink with the man.
Spent hours in the garage doing "things" with calendars.
Spent more hours doing accounting for said calendars.
Phew.....it's 11.30 and I am on the computer blogging.
It's all good.
So great to be home!
Sunday, January 21, 2007
Hip! Hip! Hooray!!!
It has finally come..the last day.
Oh my goodness.I can hardly believe it. Tomorrow I am at home. Tomorrow I can drink as much water as I want and go to the toilet whenever I want.
Yes!
My last day consisted of being spat upon from the upstairs balcony and watching Mr.Sunshine walk back and forth itching to get close, but not crossing the line.
Oh what fun...
I was blessed with a visit from my friend Sandy, who stopped and had morning tea with me.
I then removed everything that I could, cut all the cable ties that were connecting the stand and holding it together and generally got ready for the crew to arrive at 4 to close down and remove the fixtures.
Wouldn't you know it - some stupid woman still wandered around at 5 minutes past four thinking she could take up more of my precious time and maybe buy a calendar - Ha! Was she wrong or what!
Lady - I am closed.
Can you not see that?
I am just looking she says.
No.no looking. No more looking.
Go away!
Ah..freedom. I can just remember what it felt like.
It has been 96 days.
Now it's time to catch up with the rest of my life and to finally process some of the experiences that I have placed on hold for the last two months.
Some sorting to do..
So here I go down the rabbit hole...

I have had a bad headache for about 48 hours now and every bone in my body aches. I think I am ready.....to.....finish......now.

Single digits at last!

Oh Happy days....
I am down to single digits...nine days to go...woo hoo!!!
I think that it is finally slowing down now - toady sales were slow and I had a very quiet and relaxed day, even though I couldn't go to the toilet all day.
It is sooo exciting to know that it won't be long now and I will be FREE!
It will be great to get back into readings and Rose Cottage stuff.
Many changes to come this year, especially in my life - but I need time to think them through and till now I have not had time to do so.
Some things to consider and reconsider..but it's all too easy cause all you have to do is make a decision.
I miss reading books as well.
I have not had time to do so.
And then there's mother - I will have time to do so.

Last Days...

The infamous Khyber Pass - where they can stick their calendars!!!!
Tonight I got the man to print out some "last days" signs for me to put up at the calendar stand...oooohhh, so close I can almost believe it to be real.
Yeh, yeh, I know...I have two weeks left, but on Monday I go to 75% off and I want every bastard that walks past to buy a freaking calendar!!!
Considering that I just got another $65,000 worth of stock last Thursday and I will be getting another $45,000 worth 4 days before I close!
Yep, go figure!
Why am I getting this now?
Because it means that the company does not have to do the dirty work at the end of the sales season...us stupid operators will do it and the worst is....we do it for FREE!!!!!
Ewwww.
I so hate this part of the season.
It makes the end bitter sweet.
It just makes me bitter.
And any day now...I will say "I will never do this again."
"They can stick it up their khyber pass."
Oh well.
Such is life. I need to shut up and just get on with it.
This time next month I will be sitting enjoying a coffee with the Mary's.

Did anyone buy a calendar BEFORE Xmas????
Did anyone buy a calendar BEFORE Christmas? I thought that everyone had one by now.
I WAS WRONG!
Far out - how much can people buy?
I have served over 500 customers in the last two days, each one buying one, two, even three calendars.
It's crazy.
I have nothing left. But, just when you thought that I would run out..I am just about to get another load of calendars in a day or so. YAY....(not).
And guess what...next week, we are selling at 75% off. This is when people take everything that isn't tied down.
They are even buying my tractor ( yes...tractor) calendars.
Mmmmmmmmm..

And all the tight arse poodle owners ( this DOES NOT include you Raihn - you were one of my best customers, along with Mary Ankle )have come in over the last two days searching for a poodle calendar at half price cause they were too tight to get one at full price - and guess what? I haven't got any!!!Ha!
Serves them right.
I have had over twelve requests....

What am I going to do with myself when calendars sales are over?
I wonder?
Will have to find something new to bitch about won't I?
P.S.Mary of the many now paid for laybys..don't forget you are on tomorrow.
Bring long sharp stick please.
And metal tipped boots.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL!

Here's wishing you all a blessed and happy start to the New Year.
I am hoping that 2007 will be a good one for me and my family and also for you and yours.
May our alliances continue to grow.
May our friendships continue to give us joy.
May everyone be strong and healthy.
Tonight is a wierd night - there are parties on either side of our house.I can already hear the laughter and noise.
We will be having a quiet one.
And tomorrow I can sleep in.....yay!!!!!
I just hope no idiot starts mowing thier lawn at 7 o'clock in the morning - there is always one bright spark in the neighbourhood, isn't there!
See you in 2007...

23 days to go - but who's counting!!!!

Yep - it's sale time and as all Mary's would tell you, it's bloody busy!!!
All calendars are now 50% off and all the morons comming in to buy them are 50% more stupid than before.
Oh - I know - I shouldn't say that about my beloved customers....
but it's true.
Now the one good thing about all of this is that I have only 23 days left and it cannot come quick enough.
I have been suffering from a feral throat and chest thing and am glad that the long hours have finally come to an end as they have really worn me out.
Back to normal working hours again...yay!!!!
Thank the Goddess for small blessings.
I think that I will have a very quiet New Year's Eve this year as the man is a bit wary about going anywhere and I am ...frankly, too tired.
Had a small idea about getting together down by the foreshore to see the 9 pm fireworks.....
How has everyone's year been and what are your New Year's resolutions????
Time to blog a list methinks???!!!

Happy Solar Invictus!

Yay...it's Solar Invictus Day and I am at home, having slept to a whopping 11.30!!!!!!!
Then I woke with a caffeine withdrawal headache, as normally I would have had my third cup by now.Mersyndol to the rescue!
But, I am home..all day.
And guess what?
I am also home tomorrow.....all day.
Yay!!!The man had prepared breakfast with lots of cold meats, fresh home baked sour dough bread (that the man had baked the day before) and condiments.
Then we had some freshly baked cakes - also cooked by the man the day before.
How good is that?!!
After mass over consumption of goodies, the girls and I headed out to visit my dad ( dearly departed) at the cemetary and sprinkled angels and sparkles on his grave. While there, we decided to hunt out the oldest grave site at the cemetary and go sprinkle some angel dust there too. Here lies Robert, for over 100 years - so we blessed his soul and sprinkled his decomposing grave site with angels and stars. We figured it had been a long long time since anyone had payed him a visit.
Then we went home and I lit a candle and burnt some incence and felt so much better....there really must be pagan in me.
I then mustered the strength to also go visit my mum and take her some of the man's cakes. It must be horrible being alone at Christmas and I felt sorry for her - but I could only take half and hour of her company. I think I did well.
I am currently staring at so much chocolate on our coffee table that I figure it will take at least a week to get through it - oh how painful....not!
Other than that, we will have a friend over tonight and that will be that.
I am very happy.
It is a very special Christmas.
My darling man is well and happily sitting at his computer responding to people from all over the world who are asking him about his cancer operation and asking for advice for themselves.
My darling man is here with me and will be snuggling next to me in bed tonight and all will be well.
I am a happy girl.
Hope all is well in your household too.

God please give me strength!

It's only a few days to go till Christmas and the work hours are killing me!!!
This Thursday night is the clincher.....we work till midnight!Yippee!!!!!!
I am an old woman...please have mercy...I am getting varicous veins where I have never had them before and I have RSI in my wrist from all the eftpos transactions that I process every day!
But - such is life.
At least sales have been good and thank goodness for all of the help from the Mary's who have been my life savers this year.
The man gets his blood test results tomorrow, which will tell us just how well he really is after the operation. He has been recovering slowly. Some things have come more easily, others are progressing more slowly. All in all, he is doing remarkably well.He is a very good house husband too - doing all the dishes and cooking me dinner almost every day.HOW GOOD IS THAT!!!
There has been a suggestion made that I keep working and that he stay at home on a permanent basis...mmmmmm....me not like that idea muchly.
